ABOUT SERENDIP SANCTUARY
Serendip Sanctuary is a wildlife oasis close to Geelong and Melbourne. Here you’ll see kangaroos, wallabies, emus and loads of birds (keep an eye out for tawny frogmouths!).The sanctuary is home to hundreds of native animals, including some rare and endangered ones. The open grasslands and wetlands are perfect for spotting wildlife and learning about wetlands ecology. We’ll take the Wildlife Walk, moving slowly, stopping at bird hides, and enjoying the animals and scenery. Bring your camera, this place is made for photos!

FOOD + CUPPAS
After the walk, we’ll enjoy a BYO lunch at the picnic tables near the car park. I’ll bring the tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

 WHAT TO BRING

  • Water: at least 1L (more if it’s hot)
  • Lunch: BYO
  • BYO mug for a cuppa
  • Clothes: comfy, with layers you can add/remove
  • Shoes: any comfortable shoes with laces
  • Raincoat: if you have one and rain is possible

  • Emergency contact info: use our form (or write details on paper, in a ziplock bag, in the top/front pocket your pack)
  • Optional: camp chair or picnic rug for lunch

MEETING POINT

Meet in the picnic area, next to the carpark.  Note: the sanctuary is not well signposted, so slow down along Windemere Rd.  If you miss it, just turn around and come back.

CARPOOLING
Carpooling is a great way to save car park space, cut down our environmental footprint, and travel with new friends. Many of us come from similar areas, so please drop a note in the chat if you can offer a lift or need one.  It's great to offer a small contribution (or even a coffee) to your driver.
