Let's use the warm weather and Chip's gimpy foot to kayak at Lake Andrea this Wednesday evening instead of the usual hike.
Plan to be on the water at 6pm. That means arrive early enough to unpack your gear, launch, etc. If you know you will need help with your gear or launching, please use the comments section to make arrangements with your fellow yakkers.
Lake Andrea is an easy and fun paddle. We paddle here on Monday nights in the summer because it's the closest inland lake in Kenosha. No motorized boats are allowed on the lake, so it's generally quiet and all around pleasant.
All human-powered watercraft are welcome. Although there is a boat rental facility at the lake, it is closed by the time this paddle starts, so you will have to bring your own. Those without kayaks can post in the comments that they'd like to join. Often a member will bring an extra for someone. If someone is bringing a kayak for you and you have to cancel, please do so within 24 hours. Those kind enough to bring a kayak for someone else often go through the trouble to load up the morning of the event or even the night before.
We generally do two loops around the lake, but some folks only do one. Although we like to stick together, it's pretty natural for folks to separate into smaller groups based on their speed. The lake is small, though, so we can generally see where everyone is.
We are often rewarded with brilliant sunsets on our evening paddles.
