Our group was founded in 1983, and we've been nurturing homeschool community ever since.

About Us What is Schaumburg HOUSE?
A non-sectarian group of homeschoolers that:
- Supports all educational philosophies and family lifestyles
- Facilitates gatherings, activities, classes, cultural events, and
- Empowers our children to make friends and connect to a larger community.
Who can Join?
- Families with kids who are homeschooling and willing to make the drive to the Schaumburg Area!
- We have members in 45 different Chicagoland cities, across 5 counties.
- from the north (Crystal Lake, Round Lake, Libertyville)
- from the south (Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Wheaton)
- from the west (Elgin, St. Charles)
- and everywhere in between.
Where does Schaumburg HOUSE meet?
- Within 30 minutes of Schaumburg, IL, north, south, east and west, roughly:
- From Elgin in the West to Mt. Prospect in the East
- From Barrington in the North to Wheaton in the South.
When does Schaumburg HOUSE meet?
- Mostly on weekdays, between 10am and 3pm.
- The calendar is packed, we have events almost every day!
- You get to RSVP to whichever events you like! It’s a la carte.
How big is Schaumburg HOUSE?
We have over 100 families, with over 200 students of all ages!

- $10 goes to the Illinois Home School Association (ILHSA), our parent organization.
- Events range from free to usually less than $10 with a few exceptions.
What is the Illinois Home School Association (ILHSA)?
ILHSA is our parent organization.
Formerly known as Illinois HOUSE, it’s been around since the 80's. They do big stuff like:
- watching out for IL homeschoolers
- working to protect our homeschooling freedoms
- keeping us aware of homeschool laws
