East Pond Backpacking

With Adirondack Wilderness Explorers

Sat, Nov 06 • 9:00 AM

**Rescheduled due to a scheduling conflict with a family gathering.**

East Pond is one of the more secluded destinations in the otherwise-popular Ha-de-ron-dah Wilderness near Old Forge. A lean-to that once stood here is now long gone (good luck finding the spot where it stood!) and now the lonely tent site at the end of the trail is lightly used.

Join me for a weekend expedition into northern Ha-de-ron-dah, following a trail that cuts through a beaver flow (wet boots, anyone?) and passes other ponds en route to its destination. Once camp is set up, other side trips are possible in this area. I've camped here in the past -- and day-hiked many times -- and this has always been a memorable adventure.

If you're looking for a mid-fall weekend getaway, come and join us at East Pond!
