Escaping Your Comfort Zone - Side by Side Nature Walks is for women who want chilled out, short and slow adventures. We don’t care about size, speed or fitness. We go slow, we go short, we leave no one behind. It’s about fun in the outdoors, because we can!  These walks are for women aged 50+.

📌 Canoeing with the Queenscliff Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre

  • This is a Summer by the Sea activity is supported by Coastcare Victoria and the Victorian Government.
  • Our group has been generously offered 8 spots for this free canoeing activity.
  • All canoe gear provided (canoe, paddle, life vest)
  • 2 people per canoe.  The canoes are pretty stable.
  • Wear comfy clothes, shorts (or leggings) and a tshirt, plus a light fleece if its cold.  You may get a bit wet.  Your feet and lower legs will definitely get wet.  Warm clothes for afterwards.
  • Bring a hat that wont blow away
  • Wear shoes that have closed toes, and can get wet - no thongs as they will fall off in the water.  Old runners or water shoes are great.
  • Do not bring anything on the canoe you are not willing to get wet.  Car keys can be left in the yacht club.
  • First aid/medications: Your health is your responsibility.  Bring your own first aid kit.  Don't forget any puffers, antihistamines, epipens etc if you use them. Remember you are in the outdoors. Let Richelle know if you need to put something in a dry bag to take on the canoe.
  • You should be able to swim in case you fall out (however much of Swan Bay is shallow enough to stand up)
  • Please arrive by 9.45am

🐕 No dogs allowed
🚻 no toilets please get changed before you arrive
🚗 Carpool if you can. Please drop a comment in the chat if you can offer a lift or need one.

FOOD + CUPPAS
After the walk, Richelle will bring tea, coffee and hot chocolate.  If you want to, please bring something to share.
