Escaping Your Comfort Zone - Side by Side Nature Walks is for women who want chilled out, short and slow adventures. We don’t care about size, speed or fitness. We go slow, we go short, we leave no one behind. It’s about fun in the outdoors, because we can!  These walks are part of building connections between women aged 50+.

📍 Griggs Creek - Clifton Springs

Griggs Creek Reserve highlights the natural beauty of the Bellarine Peninsula. Shaded by ancient River Red Gums, the park offers clifftop views across Port Phillip Bay, direct beach access, and a playground for families. Percy Cherry Park commemorates local World War I hero Captain Percy Cherry VC.

The spring-fed creek, flowing from Lake Lorne into the bay, is a vital remnant waterway that provides habitat for turtles, frogs, fish, eels, and birdlife. It also carries cultural significance for the Wadawurrung People and is part of their songlines.

A loop walk or ride can be enjoyed in either direction: the wide, accessible western path suits walkers, joggers, and cyclists, while the eastern dirt track offers a quieter walking trail. With nearby cafes, shops, wineries, and more playgrounds, the reserve is perfect for relaxation and exploration.

🚶 Walk: Slow-paced with a few hills and steps. There's one short steep section, but as always we take it slow and no one is left behind.

🐶 Dogs: Well-behaved dogs welcome. Please check local leash requirements and always clean up after your dog.

🚻 Facilities: Toilets available at the start and end point.

🅿️ Parking: Please reverse park where possible in case of an emergency or if you need a jump start.

🚗 Carpooling: If you can, consider carpooling to save parking spaces and fuel—and don't forget to shout your driver a coffee as thanks!

CARPOOLING
Carpooling is a great way to save car park space, cut down our environmental footprint, and travel with new friends. Many of us come from similar areas, so please drop a note in the chat if you can offer a lift or need one.  It's great to offer a small contribution (or even a coffee) to your driver.
