Event Details

Come and join us on this walk along the old rail trail that stretches from Trentham to Lyonville. It's 6 km each way, and we will start at the old Trentham train station, walk to Lyonville where we can stop for some lunch or R&R (Please BYO any food and snacks to eat) , and then turn around and walk back the 6km to our starting point.

Once we return to Trentham, for those that can stick around, let's grab a drink or snack from one of the local cafes :)

This is a relatively flat path with some subtle undulation, and is only rated more challenging (MC) due the the distance of 12km.

Escaping Your Comfort Zone is Body Positive Adventures for women and non-binary crew.  The outdoors don't care about your size, your speed or your fitness, and neither do we!  100% body positive, no focus on weight loss. Just having fun in the outdoors, cause we can!

This is 100% achievable for anyone without mobility issues, and we will take is slowly, with plenty of breather stops.

Hike Leader: Sylvia - I'll be driving a white Toyota RAV4

Important COVID Information -

  • Due to Victorian government health directives on community sport and recreation, all participants are recommended to be fully vaccinated or hold a relevant exemption.
  • Please review the latest COVID information that may apply to this hike

Hike Rating: More Challenging - due to distance (refer to Hike Ratings for details)

  • This hike is on wide, well-formed, marked trails, mostly flat, with some undulations.
  • The trails may be compacted gravel, sand or dirt, with short hills, or small obstacles.
  • We will walk for approximately 3-4 hours in total, with tons of drink and breather stops, as well as a BYO lunch stop.
  • Given the distance of this hike, it is recommended that you would have joined us on several Slow & Steady hikes previously.
  • And as always it is paced to ensure no one is left behind.

If you are wondering if you're fit enough for this hike, the answer is YES! We all need to start somewhere and this is a great place to start - this is an excellent hike for people that are comfortable walking for several hours. Please contact me if you have any specific questions or concerns!

Kids:  This walk is suitable for kids if they are able to walk at an adult pace for up to 4 hours

Dogs: Dogs are welcome if kept on a short lead, and all poop is picked up
