🌶️🌶️ 4 Day Chilled Out Trip to Wales to the World Famous Bunk House🌶️🌶️

Please join me for an extended weekend of leisurely riding in Wales.

This trip is aimed at nearly everyone, due to the longer than average miles involved it's probably not suitable for very inexperienced riders - drop me a message to discuss.

New members, you'll need to complete a couple of rides with LMRC before putting your name down on this event. I need to ensure you know how corner marking works and that you're not an axe murderer or something worse.

Payment will be due 20:00 3/1/2026

It's also not suitable for the small but annoying minority of people in the club who persist in riding in a less than appropriate manner. If you're one of these then please redeem yourselves and promise me that you'll be a good boy or girl.

LMRC Event Type – Open to All

Experience has taught me that making a ride to Wales is a bit of a waste of time and effort, the roads there are far superior to those on the way. We traditionally start this ride at The McDonald’s St Oswald’s Retail Park Glos. GL1 2UE, no change for this ride. It's easy enough to get to - around 2:30 hours for most (tough luck if you live east).  Even worse is the journey home, I've endeavoured to do this every time I've done this weekend and frankly it's just no fun. So now I've learned my lesson the route will finish at Cross Gates where you can follow the A44 back to civilization. If you don't fancy an early start you can stay somewhere nearby - there are loads of hotels for you to choose from.

I've got more routes around Wales than you can shake a stick at, a selection will be published before the ride and we can pick and choose depending on the weather. You'll get to see lots of mountains, lakes, reservoirs and sheep. We'll stop off at some of the old favourites and a couple of new places.

We'll be keeping the daily distances reasonable. 200ish miles will be the absolute maximum and on the days when we arrive and depart those will be kept to around 150 miles as there's another 2-3 hours for us all to get home.

The Accommodation

Our accommodation for the stay will be the Beili Neuadd Bunk House near Rhayader, see www.beilineuadd.co.uk/.

As with all bunk houses the living is very communal. 4-6 people in a room and a bathroom for each room, comfortable common areas for everyone to crash in. An outside BBQ and fire pit area that is brilliant for chilling out in the evenings. Best of all a big table for everyone to eat around and have a bit of craic.

This is a self catering trip, that means everyone has to do a bit. Cooking, cleaning, washing up. I'll sort the shopping out and get us a delivery and the very kind Ruth (who runs the place will put it away for us). If your used to being looked after by your mum, this trip might be quite the wake up call. I'm not your mum and slackers will be noticed and given jobs to do😉.

If you have any dietry requirements let me know well in advance and I'll do my best to work something out. Please be as specific as you can with these requirements as I'm not a great mind reader.

The accommodation is split into 2 rooms of 6, one room of 4. All rooms have their own bathroom. We'll be taking the rooms in the main bunk house.

The dorms will be single sex. One of the dorms, as a minimum will be available for our female members.

There is also the option for camping if you want to bring your own accommodation.

There is a washing machine and a drying room to air your bike gear should it get wet.

All bedding and towels are provided for those in the bunk house, camping bring your own sleeping bag.

There's a nice outside space with a fire pit and BBQ..

Sign up for the trip and you'll join the waitlist. I'll move everyone off the waitlist after a week, this will give everyone a chance to get a place. Once you're set to going I will send payment instructions. It's nice when everyone pays straight away (less admin for me).

What is included and what is the cost of the trip?

The total cost is £130. This includes your evening meals on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night, breakfast on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning. Beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks. Three nights accommodation at the bunk house, bedding and towels

Once you have made it off the waitlist the full amount will be payable. Payment is required within 48 hours or you'll lose your spot. Drop me a DM if this is an issue and we can sort something out.

Refunds.

Please note the refund policy below, it will be strictly adhered to for this event. I will contact you days before each of the deadlines so that you don't forget them. I've had a few of people dropping out late on events and it's quite a pain in the arse to sort out. So please only sign up if you can commit to the weekend both financially and with your time. The extra over from any drops out will get chucked in the kitty.

Due to cancellation by the member or if the member receives a ban from the club that prevents them attending

  • Up to 1 month = £65, If I can fill your spot, £0 if I can't.
  • Less than 1 month = £0

Waitlist

If you are on the waitlist that means you are available. If you're not available change your RSVP, don't have the ride leader wiping your arse for you. It is very easy to keep abreast of the events that you have signed up for = in the side bar it's in the section "My Events" click on that and do your bit to help the smooth running of the club. I will take unilateral action against any miscreants who fail in this. Punishments will include but are not limited to; bullying, name calling, water boarding, sending to Coventry, letting your tyres down, firing squad.

Communications

I'll set up a WhatsApp Group to deal with ongoing communications about the trip. Therefore, you will need a WhatsApp account. You will be invited to this via a link. If you don't have WhatsApp it's not the end of the world, however, asking questions about shit that I've covered on the WA will not be appreciated. Expect me to become irritated quite quickly.
