This is short (2h20m in the saddle) ride around StAlbans, Stevenage and Hatfield for new members wanting to get Corner Marker Qualified before the Big Ride on 26th July and those who just want a gentle ride. It will be “a bit of a bimble", taking things easy with a mix of "A" roads and lanes (all with tarmac, no mud trails). This ride is not for those who want to go anywhere fast.
Please read the "Important Information" pages (on the right). You are expected to know all this stuff and follow the rules\advice.
The ride is weather dependent. If you don't have all your Groups.Place notifications enabled, make sure you check the ride details before you leave home.
This ride requires a MINIMUM number of 10 people including one (preferably 2) qualified tail gunners or it will be cancelled
OPEN TO ALL RIDE
Ride Pace - 20mph, 30mph & 40mph limits will be strictly adhered to, members should ride their own ride and at a pace they are comfortable with. My pace at the front will be determined by my keeping 2-3 bikes in sight behind me at all times. You should not worry if you feel you've been "left behind" sometimes, the tail gunner will never pass you and there's no expectation of having to "keep up" – the corner marker system means you won't get lost no matter what.
Anyone can come on this ride.
